Hello there! Come and spend some time in my world of rabbits, squirrels, hares, butterflies, wrens, and of course humans too!

I’m not an author by trade. In fact, I’m retired now, but whilst clearing my attic recently I rediscovered some old tape recordings made by my Father in 1961. They were of the bedtime stories he used to read to me when I was just 5 years old.

Well, when I say ‘read’, he actually made them up, but his eight stories featured the bunnies who lived in the woods next door.

It was an opportunity that was simply too good to miss. I had to publish them.

So I did!

In fact, my publishers liked them so much, they offered me another publishing deal.

“But I haven’t got any more material!” I pleaded.

“Well, make something up then...” they politely suggested.

So I did!

And now I’ve completed two books!

The first is an illustrated storybook for young children to enjoy, and my second book, a novel, selects one of the storybook’s characters and takes the reader along his journey through life from the age of 2, to when his first child also reaches this impressionable age.

As an ageing and, to be honest an unlikely author, it has given me countless hours of pleasure writing these books, and then reading them too!

Sentimental as I may be, my novel still makes me laugh and cry, aided by the fact that my memory is now not as good as it once was, which in an odd way is quite rewarding because I can enjoy the same reading experience many times over as though each time is the first!

My novel is dedicated to my daughters and grandchildren. Both books are written in memory of my wonderful but sadly now-departed parents, without whom none of this would have been remotely possible.

The books are called:

‘My Bunny Rabbit Adventures’, which is an illustrated storybook for children;

and

'Butterflies and Wrens', which is a first novel for children from the age of 12 upwards, and also a delightful read for adults too!
